Not So Sweet is Arc's dynamic and engaging new prevention initiative for school audiences, originally commissioned by the Barking & Dagenham Drug and Alcohol Grant in support of the Government and NHS ambition for a smoke-free generation by 2030. Featuring the specially written humorous short play Chellies by Arc’s Resident Writer Clifford Oliver, our latest interactive Forum Theatre and multi-media programme is designed for Years 5-6 in primaries, and Year 7 in secondary schools.
Not So Sweet aims to:
- Raise awareness of the dangers and risks of addiction including vaping,
- Bust the myths and misinformation about vaping,
- Increase understanding about the facts and impacts of vaping, smoking and wider drugs,
- Improve young people’s critical thinking skills about the choices they make for their health,
- Highlight how to avoid peer pressure, exploitation, and getting involved in criminal activity,
- Signpost how and where to get help, whilst promoting healthy lifestyles.
