This special event will celebrate the achievements of the 50 enthusiastic young female participants who have worked with us on the latest journey of the project, including producing and touring the latest Raised Voices film 'An Equal World' to their peers in schools across the Borough. Our latest film in the series explores a range of issues affecting young people today, including bullying, self harm, knife crime, CPR, LGBTQ+ hate crime, domestic abuse and Gender Equality.

We are delighted to bring back the fantastic Oliver's Tales interactive storytelling and tale-making sessions for audiences in nursery, infant and junior schools!

Arc joins the community uniting against knife crime
On 17 October, Beatrice Mushiya held a special event at Barking Town Hall in memory of her 17-year-old son Duran Kajiama, and all the young people who have lost their lives to knife crime.

Arc's female empowerment group now recruiting!
Arc's Raised Voices drama-based female empowerment programme is open for new members from Thursday 9 November 2017 - join us to learn new skills, make new friends, and be part of a new film each year!

The return of Boy X
This summer we are welcoming the return of our anti-gangs and youth violence/weapon crime play Boy X - reworked as Forum Theatre and special excerpts for schools and community events.

Tackling sexual offences in West Midlands Schools
Now booking for autumn 2017! Arc once again joins forces with West Midlands Police to help young people tackle inappropriate sexual behaviour on the transport system.

Raised Voices Female Empowerment Group Latest Film Launch
The youth group – run by Arc Theatre as a female leadership and peer mentoring project – left no topic untouched in their films as they explored everything from transgender experience to forced marriage and FGM. Every one of the 11 shorts was devised, created and performed by a total of 50 students from different schools in the borough.

News from our Raised Voices female empowerment group
Now in its third year, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and London Borough of Barking & Dagenham MOPAC, Arc's peer mentoring project took time out for some team-bonding this summer, with additional support from the Jack Petchey Foundation.
